PARESH JAIN

Founder & Portfolio Manager

Paresh Jain founded OppoQuest in August 2012.  Prior to that, he worked as a portfolio manager with Smith Graham & Co Investment in Houston from October 2007 – January 2012, where he helped manage approximately $1 billion in fixed-income investments for their CORE mandate.  

 

Before becoming a portfolio manager, he established the non-U.S. investment infrastructure at Smith Graham, and served as the firm’s Currency & Non-U.S. Dollar Bond Analyst covering G10 nations.  Mr. Jain joined Smith Graham as an Equity Analyst in 2003 immediately after graduating from business school.

Mr. Jain has also worked in the Indian capital markets offering market-making/Specialist services on the Bombay Stock Exchange.  Subsequently, he became a proprietary trader in equities, bonds, and derivatives.

Mr. Jain received his B.S. in Business Administration from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas and Master’s in Business Administration from the Jones Graduate School of Business at RICE University in Houston, Texas. Mr. Jain also has an undergraduate degree in Business from University of Bombay.

ALOK HIMMATRAMKA 

Investment Advisor Representative (IAR) & Portfolio Manager

Alok Himmatramka had a 29-year career in the oil and gas industry working for international oil majors BP and Amoco. His experience there covered leadership positions in international business development, country management, corporate governance, assurance and coaching, internal control, strategic planning and risk management, as well as project and engineering management in various facets of oil and gas exploitation, development, and production.

In 2008, Mr. Himmatramka took early retirement from BP to invest his energy in various start-up businesses and was a co-founder of a state community bank in Texas. He has remained a private portfolio manager over 30-plus years, managing his own and family funds in equity markets.

 

Mr. Himmatramka received his B.S. in Geology & Chemistry and Master’s in Geology from University of Bombay.  He then went on to receive a M.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana Tech University.  Mr. Himmatramka has also completed several Professional and Executive Programs at University of Texas at Austin and RICE University in Houston.
